History

Initially created in New York in 1986 by Serge J. Massat, who had been working in the US since 1980, Massat Group extended its presence to Latin America and its main office is today in Mexico City that was opened in 1994.

The other main market covered by Massat Group is the USA In order to minimize the costs for the client, some US clients are even serviced out of the Mexican office.

Beyond these few lines the History of the Massat Group has to be merged with the career of Serge J. Massat, French Expert-Comptable and US Certified Public Accountant

Serge J. Massat was born in 1953 and graduated from the Toulouse Business School in 1975. In 1980, he passes his CPA license in France and in 1987, his CPA license in the USA.

He started his professional career in Toulouse, France where he worked from 1975 to 1980 before moving to Cleveland, USA where he worked for Ernst & Young in 1980-1981. In late 1981, he returns temporarily to Paris to work for a local CPA firm before deciding to move back to New York in 1982. He then develops in a joint venture with the US subsidiary of a French bank a consulting department and starts his own independent CPA pratice in 1986.

Beyond his professional activities, he is a special advisor to the Financial Exams Department of the United Nations, while being very much involved with the French Community abroad : Foreign Trade advisor to the French Government, Director of the French American Chamber of Commerce, former Director of the French Mexican Chamber of Commerce and founding member and former President of the Club 600 of New York and Mexico
